About Us

About Bradford Auto Body, Inc.

At Bradford Auto Body, Inc., we genuinely care about our customers. Generations of family members have been coming to us for their collision repair needs. It is not uncommon for people to come in saying that their dad or mom, or grandpa or grandma, said to come here. We understand the importance of referrals and appreciate when customers and insurance agents tell their friends and claimants that we are honest, will treat them right, and give their vehicle a professional, quality repair.

How It All Started

George “Brad” Bradford, founded Bradford Auto Body in 1949. As a young man, Brad raced midgits. He loved everything about cars and racing. He knew that an auto repair garage would serve not only the needs of his community but would satisfy his passion for automobiles.

Brad could be a curmudgeon. But his loyalty to Littleton, to his associates, and to his customers was admired and inspiring. Brad married Mary Shupe Kempf, who was working as a bookkeeper for a local salvage yard. Mary had a strong business sense and shared Brad’s love of cars, Littleton and helping people. Together, Brad and Mary became a formidable presence in Littleton. Throughout their years, they gave selflessly to countless non-profits and causes they embraced both individually and through their business. Their philanthropy and volunteerism became synonymous with Bradford Auto Body.

Brad passed away in March, 1998. After losing Brad, Mary continued as President of Bradford Auto Body until her death in July, 2014. Until her passing, Mary continued to lend her encouragement and support of the Company, its employees, and the Community.
In 1980, Brad and Mary asked Mickey Kempf, Mary’s son, to take over the operations of Bradford Auto Body. Since 1980, Mickey has built upon the foundation of the Company, seeing through the completion of a major expansion, move towards computerized systems, enhanced procedures, and expanding the customer base, all while maintaining the quality of work customers have come to expect. Mickey’s son, Mike Kempf, has been with the Company since 1992. Mike is a certified repair and PDR technician with a keen eye for detail. As shop foreman, Mike helps manage back of shop operations.

Small businesses are disappearing across the country.

In the auto repair industry, small shops are being quickly absorbed by large, national companies whose interests do not necessarily align with the type of business or community spirit Bradford Auto Body was built upon. The competition from these large, national entities can be challenging. The fact that Bradford Auto Body, Inc. remains family owned, and independent, since 1949 shows we must be doing something right!

We hope you never need the services of an auto repair facility. But should you, we invite you to visit Bradford Auto Body, Inc. where “your satisfaction is our goal”.
