George “Brad” Bradford, founded Bradford Auto Body in 1949. As a young man, Brad raced midgits. He loved everything about cars and racing. He knew that an auto repair garage would serve not only the needs of his community but would satisfy his passion for automobiles.
Brad could be a curmudgeon. But his loyalty to Littleton, to his associates, and to his customers was admired and inspiring. Brad married Mary Shupe Kempf, who was working as a bookkeeper for a local salvage yard. Mary had a strong business sense and shared Brad’s love of cars, Littleton and helping people. Together, Brad and Mary became a formidable presence in Littleton. Throughout their years, they gave selflessly to countless non-profits and causes they embraced both individually and through their business. Their philanthropy and volunteerism became synonymous with Bradford Auto Body.
Brad passed away in March, 1998. After losing Brad, Mary continued as President of Bradford Auto Body until her death in July, 2014. Until her passing, Mary continued to lend her encouragement and support of the Company, its employees, and the Community.
