We understand that an accident can be a traumatic event, causing unplanned and unwelcome interruption in your life. Bradford Auto Body wants to be part of the solution, not part of the problem.
The collision repair department at Bradford Auto Body works hard to make certain all repairs performed live up to our reputation for quality workmanship.
We understand that keeping your repair on schedule is important and that delays always have ripple effects. Where delays do occur, it is most likely the result of supplemental damage uncovered which may involve the need to order additional parts, insurance review, and approval before proceeding.
Our desire is to meet the estimated time to complete repairs. However, we will not compromise the quality or safety of any repair to save time. We provide a written warranty for our repair and paint services.
Whenever possible, we will use OEM parts on your vehicle. We have relationships with supplies who will price-match OEM parts with that of an aftermarket supplier. When aftermarket or used parts are included, we reject any we find unacceptable.
If your vehicle is a candidate for paintless dent repair (PDR), we will suggest this as an option. PDR is most successful on small dents or scratches that have not broken the paint surface. PDR is an excellent choice when suitable. Ask your estimator if this is an option.
Auto Body Refinishing
Bradford Auto Body’s refinishing department is professional and exacting. We take extra steps to ensure your vehicle's finish matches that of the factory in color and texture. The time spent in the paint department is marked by blocking, sanding, and prepping.
When a car is said to be “in the paint shop”, this includes all preparation work before the paint is finally applied. The time spent on preparation is not insignificant and is critical to ensuring the best possible results.
Regardless if the entire vehicle is involved or a single part, preparation for paint involves masking, priming, blocking, and if necessary, re- priming then re-blocking, before moving into the booth. Once in the booth, the vehicle or part is ready for paint application, followed by the clear coat. Finally, after all this is completed, some vehicles will require nib sanding, color sanding, and polishing.
Once paint is completed, the part or vehicle is returned to the body department for reassembly, then washed and prepared for pick up.
Today’s paint colors can be a complex formula. Our painters use only quality paint and a computerized mixing system that produces excellent results.
Auto Body Framing & Mechanical
Bradford Auto Body's frame department is equipped with state of the art laser measuring equipment to ensure your vehicle is corrected to meet or exceed factory specifications. Many vehicles are built to the specification of within 6mm tolerance. Later model vehicles are produced to a tolerance of 3mm. We can correct your vehicle to meet or exceed all of these.
Visual inspection of a vehicle is not adequate.
The lasers will tell all, down to 1mm – the thickness of a dime! Amazing, isn’t it?
As automobile design continues to include increasingly more features, complex components, and computerized functions, an initial visual inspection of damage often cannot reveal hidden damage to the frame or other parts.
Once in the shop and the repair technician begins removing parts, any hidden damage will be revealed. When identified, this additional damage will generate a supplement for the insurance company to approve before work proceeds. This review process helps the insurance company with cost containment efforts while at the same time, ensuring the details of the supplement are in their customer’s best interest.
